रिले में सोना जीतकर फाउल का गम कम किया : हिमा दास

नई दिल्ली:  जकार्ता एशियाई खेलों की चार गुणा 400 मीटर रिले स्पर्धा में स्वर्ण पदक जीतने वाली भारत की फर्राटा धावक हिमा दास ने कहा है कि 200 मीटर में फाउल होने का बाद टीम स्पर्धा में स्वर्ण जीतने से वह खुश हैं और इस कारण फाउल के बाद का उनका गम काफी कम हो गया है। 

हिमा ने पुवम्मा राजू, सरिताबेन गायकवाड़ और विसमाया वेलुवाकोरोथ के साथ मिलकर महिलाओं की चार गुणा 400 मीटर रिले स्पर्धा का स्वर्ण अपने नाम किया था। अपनी पसंदीदा 200 मीटर रेस में फाल्श स्टार्ट के कारण सेमीफाइनल से ही बाहर हो गई थीं।

New Delhi: A record medals tally along with matching the largest ever gold medal haul, success in little known sports and disappointments in wrestling, boxing and kabaddi were the hallmarks of India's performance at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta.

India ended up at the eighth spot with 15 gold, 24 silver 30 bronze for a highest ever total of 69 medals. India has thus surpassed their previous highest tally of 65 medals which they registered at the 2010 edition in Guangzhou.

Jakarta: Indian athletes enjoyed a successful day at the 2018 Asian Games with reigning continental champion Neeraj Chopra creating a new national record on his way to the men's javelin gold while Dharun Ayyasamy, Sudha Singh and Neena Varakil clinched silvers in their respective events here on Monday.

Neeraj threw 88.06 metres in his third attempt to clinch the gold, India's second medal in the event in Asiad history. Gurtej Singh had taken a bronze at the 1982 edition in New Delhi.
