On the morning of August 28, 2018, several human rights activists from various parts of the country were arrested and the homes of few others were raided. ‘Urban Naxal’ is the new unceremonious epithet that has been conferred on these activists by sections of our cacophonous media. The raids, conducted by the Maharashtra Police, were carried out as part of a probe into the violence at Bhima Koregaon – triggered by an event called Elgar Parishad held in Pune on December 31, 2017. One such ‘Urban Maoist’ is the 81-year-old Jesuit priest, Father Stan Swamy.

Ever rising hate crimes in India!

India witnessed a disturbing 100 incidents of hate crimes with the rise of Sangh Pariwar during the first half of the current year ending June 2018. With this, incidents of hate crimes have gone up to 603 since Akhlaq was lynched in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, (National Capital Region) in September 2015, for allegedly killing a cow and storing its meat in his fridge. This is based on data collected by various social research organizations in the country and the global human rights watchdog, the Amnesty International.

यहां आयोजित 'यूथ की आवाज' कार्यक्रम से इतर जिग्नेश ने आईएएनएस के साथ बातचीत में मौजूदा केंद्र सरकार को परिभाषित करते हुए कहा, "यह सरकार सांप्रदायिक, जातिवादी, फांसीवादी, पूंजीवादी और नकारा है।"

AAP will not ally with Congress: Gopal Rai

New Delhi:  The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will not ally with the Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Gopal Rai, a cabinet minister in the Delhi government, has said, adding that being a part of a post-poll Grand Alliance will depend on the manner in which the electorate votes.

"No," the Delhi State Convenor of the party snapped when asked during an interview with IANS whether there was any chance of an AAP-Congress alliance for the polls.
